Improving Sentence Construction in Reception and  Primary: 3rd February 2026 4pm - 5pm

This live, expert-led event is fully funded for Early Career Teachers (and free for subscribers). If you’re unable to attend live, a full recording will be available after the session. Designed for Primary teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Reception teachers, this session is ideal for anyone looking to strengthen sentence construction in their classroom. English Leaders will also find this session valuable for developing whole-school practice. During the session, we will refer to DfE guidance on effective sentence construction from The Writing Framework (2025) and integrate this with key research evidence to examine: - The central role of spoken language in developing pupils’ sentence construction. - Practical, classroom-ready strategies to improve both oral and written sentence construction. Participants will leave with clear, evidence-informed approaches that can be implemented immediately and will have a direct, measurable impact on pupils’ sentence construction in the primary classroom.
