About the Course
Designed for Year 5 and Year 6 teachers and Teaching Assistants, this 90-minute recorded training supports confident, effective teaching of punctuation in upper Key Stage 2. Colons, dashes and brackets can be confusing for pupils — and tricky to teach well. This session demystifies punctuation, strengthening subject knowledge and sharing practical, classroom-ready approaches that help pupils understand how punctuation works and why it matters in their writing. In this recorded session, you will: - Revisit essential punctuation subject knowledge from the National Curriculum for Years 5 and 6. - Explore active strategies to develop secure understanding and application of punctuation, - Examine effective techniques for teaching the full range of punctuation needed to meet the expected standard and achieve greater depth by the end of Key Stage 2.
