About the Course

This briefing is a live online event and is aimed at Primary Head teachers and English Subject Leaders. If you can't attend the live event, simply book a live date and we will send you a recording following the session. The writing framework (published in July 2025) is designed to help schools meet the expectations set out in the Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework and the national curriculum. It aligns with Ofsted’s education inspection framework and with the reading framework. The guidance gives simple, practical advice about how to teach writing to pupils in the reception year, key stage 1 and key stage 2. This session will examine: - Key recommendations outlined in the framework and associated research. - Implications for the primary classroom as well as strategic, whole school development of writing.  - Practical guidance re school self-evaluation and actions for teachers and leaders.
